So there are many of you who loyally watch these shows and, like me, make continual comments to the television whether anyone else is in the room or not. Alternately, there are many of you who do not have the time to keep up with reality TV – there are too many shows, your tivos runneth over, you have kids and can’t remember what it’s like to watch anything beyond Dora the Explorer (you know who you are) – but you also want to be “in the know.” That’s fine. Let me help you understand.

American Idol Elimination: So What?

There were really no surprises on American Idol tonight as the Top 3 contestants were revealed. Here's how it went down:

Results! Jena was the first person to make it through to next week's semi-finals and Caleb soon followed her. Our bottom 2 this evening were (gasp!) Alex and Jessica, and Jessica had the lowest number of votes. I had such high hopes for her when the Top 12 portion of the season started, but she just never had the breakthrough she needed to make it to the finish line. Jessica closed the show with a tearful version of "Blue Eyed Lie" and now we really have ourselves a competition.

I absolutely want a Caleb and Jena finale...but Alex seems to have quite a fan base at this point and might be a spoiler next week when push comes to shove. Can he break thorough what the American Idol producers and judges have pretty much deemed the Final 2? We only have one more week until we find out who will duke it out in the 2014 finale. Til then!
