So there are many of you who loyally watch these shows and, like me, make continual comments to the television whether anyone else is in the room or not. Alternately, there are many of you who do not have the time to keep up with reality TV – there are too many shows, your tivos runneth over, you have kids and can’t remember what it’s like to watch anything beyond Dora the Explorer (you know who you are) – but you also want to be “in the know.” That’s fine. Let me help you understand.

American Idol Elimination: Look At Me

On tonight's episode of American Idol another contestant left the competition and the Top 7 was revealed (for real this time). The episode itself was not too exciting. There were no guest performers...just a lot of commercials and montages, and then montages of the montages, and then some photos which could have also been included in a montage. Here's what went down:

Results! Caleb's face appeared on the screen of safety first (damn straight), with Jessica and Dexter following right after. This put C.J. in the bottom 2. Alex made his way to the Top 7 next, with Jena and SAM joining him. This put Malaya in the bottom 2 as well. For me, the clear choice for elimination between these two is C.J since he plays hide-and-seek with his pitch every week. Alas, it was actually Malaya that received the lowest number of votes, and I hope the judges are happy with themselves. I didn't want the kid to win, but she was far more worthy of a save then the dude who still can't bother to look at audience members while he is performing. Malaya sings a very emotional rendition of "I Am Changing" as her swan song, and I wish her the best.

New week the Top 7 will face off again and we will see if C.J. and Sam can surprise us all. Is one of them bound to go home? Could we possibly have an Idol shake up? We'll find out when the contestants take the stage again. Til then!
