So there are many of you who loyally watch these shows and, like me, make continual comments to the television whether anyone else is in the room or not. Alternately, there are many of you who do not have the time to keep up with reality TV – there are too many shows, your tivos runneth over, you have kids and can’t remember what it’s like to watch anything beyond Dora the Explorer (you know who you are) – but you also want to be “in the know.” That’s fine. Let me help you understand.

The X Factor: We're Back to 12

During tonight’s X Factor elimination show we will say goodbye to one act, bringing us back to the Top 12 once again. Will Diamond White survive the week, or will her spot as the 13th performer be just that? Mario Lopez and Khloe Kardashian are here to facilitate this mess….so God help us all.
This year, we are revealing the total rankings for each act, not just the bottom two. Here’s how they shape up:
1.       Tate Stevens
2.       Carly Rose Sonenclar
3.       Vino Alan
4.       Diamond White (whoa!)
5.       Fifth Harmony (in the 5 spot – classic)
6.       Emblem3
7.       Jennel Garcia
8.       Paige Thomas
9.       Lyric 145
10.   Beatrice Miller
11.   Arin Ray
CeCe Fray and Jason Brock are in the bottom 2 and must sing for their lives, hoping the judges choose to save them. CeCe delivers a soulful rendition of “You Haven’t Seen the Last of Me,” which is gutsy considering her possible elimination. I’ll be honest - I really miss the CeCe we saw during the audition rounds. The CeCe we’ve had during the live shows just isn’t the same. Jason gives a…um…passionate performance of “Total Eclipse of the Heart,” which unfortunately suffers from far more pitch problems than CeCe’s song.
Time for the judges to weigh in: Britney and LA vote to send CeCe home (I swear Britney haaaaaates her), and Simon and Demi vote to send Jason home. This brings us back to America’s votes, and Jason is sent packing. Before he exits, he tells us “I did it for the gays…and Japan!” and I am so glad he cleared that up. I would have wondered my whole life why he wanted to be on the show.
Next week our Top 12 perform again, and we’ll see if CeCe can bounce back from whatever it is that is messing her up. Here’s hoping she does, and here’s hoping someone besides me is terrified of what Lyric 145 will do next. Til then!
